Magdalena helped create a revival of the New York Flamenco scene in the late 1990's, dancing at popular downtown venues Xunta, Alegrias, Helena's, Kaña, and many more. Since then she has performed in hundreds of shows throughout NYC and the surrounding area.

Magdalena was creative director ("Flamenco Azul", Broadway Studio Dance Theater) and regularly receives choreography commissions (All Nations Dance Company, Neville Dance Theater). This year she was featured as solo artist in "Memento Muerto" at the 14th Street Y Theater. Magdalena has started her own company with the collaboration of flamenco singer "El Pola" from Seville, Spain. In Springtime she returns for her third season with the fusion project Madera at the Vermont Jazz Festival.

In Seville Magdalena has performed alongside members of Familia de Pura at La Bodeguita and also been seen dancing “por fiesta” style at Asociación Antigua. Magdalena is an active teacher giving workshops in New York City and throughout the Northeast.

Magdalena trains your ears along with your body. Study the complicated rhythmic patterns of the compás. Play palmas (hand clapping), and teach your feet to taconear. Learn the sensual brazeo (arm & hand movements)… Even end up with a small choreography! Beginner and intermediate levels, men and women welcome.
